About VetAtHome
With us, you can vaccinate your dog or cat in Stockholm at VetAtHome Djurkliniken Östermalm, Valhallavägen 184, and at our vet practices. Right now all vaccines cost 399 kr at the clinic and the vet practices (regular price at the clinic 650 kr).
Vaccination protects your dog or cat against serious infectious diseases. In Gothenburg and Uppsala we also vaccinate during home visits.
Related terms: vaccinating dogs, vaccinating cats, vaccinating pets, primary vaccination, booster vaccination, vaccination schedule and rabies vaccine.
The diseases we vaccinate against are contagious and can become serious, in the worst case life-threatening. They spread through direct or indirect contact with sick animals, and the more animals that are vaccinated, the harder it is for the diseases to spread.
Dogs are vaccinated against distemper, parvovirus, infectious canine hepatitis (HCC) and kennel cough, and against leptospirosis if needed. Cats are vaccinated against feline panleukopenia and cat flu.
If you are travelling abroad, both dogs and cats usually also need to be vaccinated against rabies, a disease that can be passed on to humans.
It's time to book a vaccination when, for example:
Boarding kennels, dog day care and training classes often require valid vaccinations. If you're unsure what your dog or cat needs, call our free support line and we'll help you plan.
The visit is short. Please bring the vaccination certificate or EU pet passport if your dog or cat has one, so the vet can see which vaccines it has already had and which are needed now. You pay by card, Swish or Klarna.
The vet asks how your dog or cat is doing and examines it, to make sure it is healthy enough to be vaccinated.
The vaccination itself only takes a few seconds and is usually given with a small injection under the skin.
The vaccination is recorded in the certificate or passport, and you'll be told when the next one is due. Get in touch if you have any questions afterwards.
The primary course builds up protection while your pet is young, and boosters keep it up. Most dogs and cats follow the same vaccination schedule, and only a few, such as older or ill animals, get their own plan. See Frequently asked questions further down for when the vaccinations are given.
If the breeder has already vaccinated your pet, bring the certificate to the first visit so the vet can see which vaccine is due. The certificate or passport shows when the vaccination expires.
If it's been a long time since the last vaccination, protection may need to be built up again, sometimes with a new primary course. The vet will assess what is needed.
Dogs and cats get different vaccines, and some vaccines are only needed for animals at greater risk of infection. A dog that meets lots of other dogs, for example, may need different protection from a dog that mostly stays at home, and the same goes for outdoor cats compared with indoor cats.
