How a visit works
Booking and preparation
Every visit starts with a conversation about your pet's needs. We set aside plenty of time to work without stress, and we're happy to help you obtain previous records in advance. By being prepared, we can focus fully on the patient as soon as you arrive.
A calm welcome
We create a stress-free, quiet environment so your pet feels safe. When you arrive, you'll quickly get your own room to avoid waiting-room stress. We always let your pet get to know the surroundings in peace and quiet before the examination begins.
Examination and discussion
At our clinic in Östermalm, we offer everything from basic care to advanced surgery and diagnostic imaging. We explain each step as we go and draw up a clear care plan. If specialist care is needed, we will of course help you with a referral.
Going home and follow-up
We go through the treatment together and help you with direct billing to your insurance company on the spot. Our care continues after the visit, with clear home-care instructions and quick answers to your questions.
We offer direct billing to all insurance companies
VetAtHome offers clinic visits, home visits and visits to our vet practices – what's best depends on your pet's needs and what's most convenient for you. We bill all insurance companies directly, which makes it easy to get help whatever insurance cover you have.
What payment methods do you offer?
You can pay by card, Swish or Klarna. You pay quickly and easily when the visit is over.
My partner is the registered policyholder – can I still use the service?
You can always use our service, whether or not you have insurance. The owner in our records doesn't have to be the same as the policyholder for you to use your pet's insurance.
Does my insurance apply?
We work with all insurance companies. As long as the reason for the visit is covered by your insurer, it is of course covered with us too.
Can I cancel a home visit?
Yes, you can! You can cancel your visit free of charge up to 24 hours before the visit. You do this via the confirmation email that was sent to your email address when you booked.
Cancellations made less than 24 hours in advance are charged 900 kr.
In which cities and areas do you offer home visits?
We make home visits in and around Stockholm, Gothenburg and Uppsala. Enter your postcode on Book and you will see straight away whether we can come to you.
Which animals can I get help for?
Our vets help dogs and cats in Stockholm, Gothenburg and Uppsala. In Stockholm we also see horses, and rabbits and rodents for simpler visits. In Gothenburg we also help rabbits and small pets. At the clinic we see dogs and cats.
How do home visits work?
How much does the service cost?
It can sometimes be difficult to say in advance what the total price of a visit will be. Every procedure carried out by the vet or our veterinary staff has a set price, but it's often not known in advance exactly what will be needed, so the price can vary from case to case. You will get a quote before treatment starts, so that you can decide whether or not to go ahead with it.
Travel is included up to 29 km from central Stockholm, Gothenburg or Uppsala. Between 30 and 69 km it costs 400-1 400 kr; further away, we'll give you a quote.
We offer direct billing if your pet is insured.
See our price list for more information and price examples.
