Vet home visits in Gothenburg: your vet, at your home

Q: What payment methods do you offer?

You can pay by card, Swish or Klarna. You pay quickly and easily when the visit is over.

Q: Do you offer vet home visits across Gothenburg?

Yes, VetAtHome offers vet home visits in Gothenburg for dogs, cats and other small pets. We come to your home instead of you having to travel to a clinic. We cover large parts of Gothenburg and nearby areas – when you make a booking request, you'll see straight away whether we can come to your address.

Q: Does my insurance apply?

We bill all insurance companies directly. As long as the reason for the visit is covered by your insurer, it is of course covered with us too.

Q: How does a vet home visit work?

On a vet home visit in Gothenburg, we come to your home at the agreed time. We start by going through your pet's history and your questions, and then carry out a clinical examination at home in a calm setting. Much can be dealt with on the spot, for example pain relief, simple wound care, skin problems or advice on diet and medication.

Q: Can I book an emergency vet home visit in Gothenburg?

When we have availability, we can sometimes help as an emergency vet in Gothenburg through home visits during the day and evening. For more serious or life-threatening conditions, your pet needs care at an animal hospital. If you're unsure, you can contact us first and we'll help you assess whether a vet home visit in Gothenburg is enough or whether you should go in as an emergency.

Q: Do you offer on-call or home visits in the evenings and at weekends in Gothenburg?

We don't have an on-call service, but we also make home visits in the evenings. You can see the times currently available when you book. For very urgent problems late in the evening, at night or when we are closed, we always recommend that you contact an animal hospital with a 24-hour emergency vet in Gothenburg.

Q: Which animals do you help on home visits in Gothenburg – dogs, cats and rabbits?

On vet home visits in Gothenburg we mainly help dogs, cats and small pets such as rabbits and guinea pigs. Many people search specifically for a dog vet, cat vet or rabbit vet in Gothenburg, and for many common problems we can help right in your home. For more advanced care or investigations, we may need to refer you on to a clinic or animal hospital.

Q: How much does the service cost?

It can sometimes be difficult to say in advance what the total price of a visit will be. Every procedure carried out by the vet or our veterinary staff has a set price, but it's often not known in advance exactly what will be needed, so the price can vary from case to case. Transparent pricing is important to us, and you will get a quote before treatment starts, so that you can decide whether or not to go ahead with it. We offer direct billing if your pet is insured. See our price list for more information and price examples.

Q: Do you make home visits in Hisingen, Lunden, Örgryte and western Gothenburg?

Yes, we make vet home visits in Gothenburg and often cover areas such as Hisingen, Lunden, Örgryte and parts of western Gothenburg, as well as central parts of the city. Exactly which areas we can travel to depends on travel time and planning on the day. When you send your booking request, you'll see whether we can come to your area.

Q: Can I book a vet home visit for euthanasia at home in Gothenburg?

When it's time to let a suffering animal be put to sleep, we offer euthanasia at home in Gothenburg. During the visit we go through your pet's condition and your questions, and euthanasia is always carried out gently, with a sedative first. Many pet owners feel it is more reassuring to do this at home rather than at a clinic, so that their pet can pass away in its usual surroundings.

Finding a good vet in Gothenburg can be a challenge, especially when your pet is unwell. The journey to a clinic or an animal hospital in Gothenburg, the wait in the waiting room and the stress for both you and your pet can make the situation even harder.
