Veterinary services / Deworming
Routine deworming is only done when the kitten or puppy is small. Adult animals should only be dewormed if a parasite burden has been determined or if the presence of worms is observed to reduce the risk of resistance of the parasites. Symptoms of worms can manifest as vomiting, diarrhea and weight loss, but also coughing in the case of respiratory parasites. If you suspect worms, stool samples can provide answers to what type of parasite the animal is carrying, as they are treated with different medications and intervals.
