Here we describe how VetAtHome processes your personal data when you book a visit, are a customer with us or visit our website, and what rights you have.

1. Who is responsible for your personal data?

Aktiebolaget Djursjukvård i Sverige, reg. no. 559299-9113, (”VetAtHome”), Valhallavägen 184, 115 27 Stockholm, is the data controller. If you have any questions about how we process your information, please send them to dataskyddsombud@vetathome.se.

4. Advertising and measurement at Google and Meta

We advertise on Google and Meta (Facebook and Instagram). To know if the ads lead to bookings, and to be able to show them to people who are not yet customers, we share certain information with them:

  • When you book an appointment, we send information that a booking has been made to Meta, along with your email address and phone number. Meta uses this to see if the booking came from an ad.
  • We may upload a list of existing customers' email addresses and postal codes to Google, so that Google can prioritize ads to people who are not yet our customers.
  • When you book an appointment, a booking event is also recorded in Google Analytics, which we use to measure how many bookings are made per booking type and appointment. This event does not contain any contact information or information about your animal. Website visitor statistics are collected via Google Analytics only if you accept analysis cookies, see section 5.

The data is hashed before it leaves us, i.e. converted into a code. Google and Meta compare the code against their own users. We do not send log data to advertising platforms.

You can object to this at any time. Contact dataskyddsombud@vetathome.se and we will remove you from future uploads and sending of booking information.

5. Cookies

We use cookies on the website. Necessary cookies are always used. Analytics and marketing cookies are only used if you accept them. You can change your choice at any time via "Change cookie settings" at the bottom of each page. More information is available at vetathome.se/support/om-cookies.

6. Who we share data with

  • Suppliers who process data on our behalf, such as medical record and booking systems, mailing services, payment services and IT services. We have personal data processing agreements with them.
  • Google and Meta, for advertising and measurement according to section 4.
  • Your insurance company, when we directly settle your case.
  • Other veterinarians and animal hospitals, when your animal is referred to or from us.
  • Authorities, when we are required to disclose information by law.
  • A buyer, if all or part of the business is transferred. The buyer will then process the data in accordance with this policy.

As a healthcare provider, we are bound by confidentiality regarding the information in your animal's medical record.

7. Transfer outside the EU/EEA

We primarily process data within the EU/EEA. Some providers, including Google and Meta, may process data in the USA. The transfer is then based on the EU Commission's adequacy decision or standard contractual clauses.

8. Your rights

You have the right to:

  • find out what data we process about you and receive a copy of it
  • get incorrect information corrected
  • have data deleted, when it is no longer needed and we are not obliged to save it
  • request that processing be restricted
  • object to processing based on legitimate interest, and always to direct marketing and advertising
  • receive information you have provided to us in a machine-readable format
  • withdraw consent at any time

Contact dataskyddsombud@vetathome.se to exercise your rights. If you believe that we are processing your data incorrectly, you can file a complaint with the Swedish Data Protection Authority, imy.se.
