For travel within the EU and many other countries, your pet will need its own EU passport. We can also help with various types of veterinary certificates.
To travel with your pet, you need an EU passport. This document is issued by a veterinarian and contains all the necessary information about your pet, including vaccinations, deworming and health checks required by each country.
ID marking:
To obtain an EU passport, your animal needs to be ID marked. This means that your animal must have an ISO microchip, or a legible tattoo that was done before July 3, 2011 is acceptable.
Rabies vaccination and deworming:
For travel within the EU, a valid rabies vaccination is required. The EU passport is usually issued in conjunction with your dog's first rabies vaccination. Remember that according to EU rules, the rabies vaccination is not valid until 21 days after it has been administered. Therefore, your EU passport should be issued no later than three weeks before your planned departure. Some countries may also require dogs and cats to be dewormed in order to enter.
