If further investigation is needed

If the veterinarian recommends further investigation, the veterinarian will discuss with you as the pet owner which examinations may be relevant for your particular animal and how much they cost before you decide on the next step.

Which tests may be recommended usually depend on the appearance, location and size of the lump, as well as your animal's individual circumstances. The veterinarian will always review their recommendation and any costs with you before you decide whether to proceed.

If surgery is recommended, we can offer time with our surgery team with short waiting times.

Do all lumps need to be examined by a veterinarian?

It is difficult to determine the cause of a lump just by looking at it or feeling it. During a lump check, the veterinarian examines the lump and makes an individual assessment of whether it needs further investigation.

The lump check includes a veterinary examination with a clinical examination of your animal, as well as where the veterinarian examines and assesses the lump.

The veterinary examination costs 0 kr (regular price 1,750 SEK).

If the veterinarian recommends further investigation, you will go through together which examinations may be relevant for your particular animal. This may include, for example, taking a sample of the lump, an X-ray of the metastasis or a blood test. You will always receive information about the recommendation and the cost before you decide whether to proceed.

No. If the vet determines that the lump needs further investigation, you will receive a clear recommendation on which tests may be appropriate and why. We will also go over the costs of the various tests, so that you know what the next steps involve before you make any decisions.

You choose whether and how you want to proceed with the recommended investigation.

If the vet determines that surgery is recommended, we will discuss the next steps and any costs that may be involved. You will always be informed of the recommended treatment and costs before you decide how to proceed. No further action will be taken without your prior information and approval.

If surgery is required, we at VetAtHome Animal Clinic Östermalm can offer an appointment with our surgery team with a short waiting time.
