X-rays are helpful in diagnosing diseases and injuries in animals. With the help of X-rays, we can detect fractures, joint changes, back diseases and causes of lameness. We can also see changes in organs such as the gastrointestinal tract, heart and lungs, and help in breeding work thanks to hip and elbow X-rays.<\/p><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

How X-rays work<\/h2>

X-rays pass through the animal's body and are absorbed differently depending on the density of the tissue. Skeletons and bones appear white, while soft tissues and organs appear in shades of gray. Air-filled areas, such as the lungs, appear black. Our digital systems quickly provide high-quality images with minimal risk to the animal.<\/span><\/p>


<\/b>Preparation and implementation<\/h2>

For best results, the animal may need sedation to keep it still and reduce stress. For X-rays of joints and bones, it is common for the animal to be fasted prior to sedation, while X-rays of the abdominal or thoracic cavities often do not require sedation. During the examination, the animal is placed on the X-ray table and images are taken from different angles. After the examination, the veterinarian can often give a preliminary report, but sometimes an expert assessment is required before the results can be provided.<\/span><\/p>


<\/b>Who can be present during the X-ray?<\/h2>

As the pet owner, you are allowed to be present to provide reassurance and help keep the animal still. Persons under the age of 18 and pregnant women are not allowed in the X-ray room.
